Secondary Stage:
· Secondary
( 1 ) emphasizes listening and speaking skill .
· Secondary
( 2 ) emphasizes reading both intensive ( short and
long ) passages .
· Secondary
( 3 ) emphasizes writing , so the pupils will have a basis for any English
writing required when they move on to university or to work in the Kingdom .
Intermediate Stage:
Aims of First Year:
· To
greet someone, ask and answer basic questions dealing with personal information
.
· Ask
and answer basic questions about home , school , occupations ,shopping
,selected countries , time , numbers and measurements .
· Describe
people and their activities and talk about routine actions and current actions.
· Understanding
and using the grammar and vocabulary taught during the year.
· Listen
to short conversation, descriptions, etc… to extract the information they need.
· Begin
to read letters, puzzles and short stories.
· Say
the alphabet, know the order of the alphabet, and spell the words they have
learned.
· Form
and connect letters correctly (using pen not pencil) , punctuate and capitalize
properly .
· Write
paragraphs by copying and choosing words or forming sentences in answer to
questions
.
Aims of Second Year :
·
Give and follow instructions.
·
Describe and compare people and
things.
·
Talk about the future and the
past.
·
Keep up the grammar and
vocabulary which they learned the previous year, understand the grammar and
vocabulary taught during the year.
·
Listen to conversations,
descriptions, etc… to extract the information they need.
·
Begin to read letters , puzzles ,
and very short stories
·
Alphabetize letters and spell
longer words.
·
Write letters and paragraphs by:
following prompt words and pictures, forming sentences in answer to questions,
rearranging jumbled sentences or substituting similar sentences.
Aims of Third Year :
· Talk
about hobbies, tools and make definitions.
· Request
things, make suggestions and report what other people have told them.
